No Room for Love

You painted dreams of love, so pure and so bright

A canvas filled with hope, a dazzling sight

I happily walked beside you, my soul lay bare

For your love so pure, beyond compare

Oh,

Did your romanticism wear off, waking you to our harsh reality?

A reality so cold, lonely, and cruel

How can you preach of hope, when that’s what you betrayed?

A hypocrite's advice, a simple, hollow charade

Oh, fearful heart, my prisoner of doubt

A fortress I built, where love is shut out

Excuses woven, in a tangled, thorny maze

A life of shadows, devoid of the sun's rays

I cannot cast aside the fear, nor let love’s sweet nectar flow

How can I dare to leap, beyond the fading stars?

When darkness looms and uncertainty scars

Why should I risk the fall, the painful sting?

Or cast aside doubt, let my spirit sing?
