What do you see when you look at me?

Distant from your end 

Of the cosmic sea 

Do you feel a share in our destiny 

As life born from dead stars?

Living in a place 

Where I didn’t come from 

Where the people call me 

An alien 

From a foreign land 

From across some sea 

Bringing difference and change 

And other scary things 

But with it, love and 

Hope for life anew
